A Message from Dave
THE ENEMY FROM WITHIN
All great Nations and Empires have always self destructed from within and the United States is no different.
I would like to open with this speech from one of the greatest Americans and probably the greatest military genius our country will ever know.
Many times he talked about the problems the military encountered in the face of the indifference and apathy of the civilian population. He told us that not only were there world wide conspiracies against our freedom from the outside but there were those trying to destroy our freedom on the inside. I think this excerpt from this speech by General Douglas MacArthur says it all.
General of the Armies General Douglas MacArthur speaking.
There are those who subvert morality as a means to gain an entrenched power. There are those believing themselves liberal who chart a course that can but lead to our destruction. There are those cynically inclined whose restless impulse is ever seeking change. There are those who are constantly trying to alter our basic concepts of freedom. There are those who seek to prevent men from fearlessly speaking their minds according to the dictates of their conscience. There are those who plan to limit our individual rights to share in the sovereign power of the people. There are those who subvert government from being the guardian of the peoples rights to make an instrument of despotic power. There are those who plan to alter the constitution of checks and balances established to preserve the integrity of our coordinate branches. There are those who seek to make a burden of taxation so great and so progressively increase it in an alarming manner that the spirit of adventure, tireless energy and masterful initiative which built the material strength of the nation should become stultified and inert. There are those who seek to make all men servants of the state. There are those who seek to change our system of free private enterprise which whatever its faults demands the maximum benefit in human happiness and contentment. Finally and perhaps the most deadly are those who seek to convert us to a form of socialistic endeavor leading directly to the path of communist slavery. As a counter balance to those forces is the deep spiritual urge in the hearts of many of our people. A spiritual urge capable of arousing and directing a decisive and impelling public opinion. This indeed is the great safeguard and resource of America.
So long as it exists we are secure for it holds us to the path of reason. It is an infallible reminder that our greatest hope rests upon two mighty symbols of Americanism. The cross and the flag. The one based upon the immutable doctrine which has provided the spiritual heritage of our nation. The other based upon the invincible will that human freedom shall not perish from the earth. These are the mighty bulwarks against the advance of the atheistic predatory forces which seek to destroy the spirituality of the human mind and to enslave the human body."
- General Douglas MacArthur
Then General MacArthur went on to develop a little more on the subject of freedom. I wish I could have been there to hear this speech because it was one of those times when a man who was truly great had the courage, and the audacity to declare both the establishment principle and at the same time to declare the spiritual principle of our freedom.
I think most of us would agree that most of the time we are our own worst enemy: victims of bad choices and decisions as we go through life. Some of us learn and some of us never learn and some only wake up to reality after they have lost what is most dear to us. The United States is no different-we are our own worst enemy. Yes we have been the target of and the envy of the world, under attack from communism, illegals, Islam, and too many to list, but we only have ourselves to blame for their many successes.
Oregon anti-war protesters burn US Solder Effigy and American Flag
When I look at our current situation we have lost a lot of ground to our enemies from within our own country. But there is always hope. Our enemies from within are largely made up of selfish people with no regard for freedom. They range from environmentalists pushing some scare tactics like global warming (the ozone is disappearing! The ice is melting! etc.)..apostate churches sticking their nose into government instead of the Bible...Socialists, gay rights activists, terrorists, gun control advocates, most of our educators and school administrators, most of our politicians, unfair taxes . . . judges and the list is endless. But they all have one thing in common, to rewrite our history, reinterpret our constitution to take away our legitimate rights and freedom.
A lot of us are aware of what is happening, but do not know what to do. It is frustrating. We vote but the choice is usually the lesser of two evils and when the people speak to an issue, for example, voting in a proposition-it is overturned in our courts by some special interest group so many of us give up their voiced vote saying it doesn't matter, and I agree with them up to the part where they give up, and this is where I will start.
How do we take our country back and regain the freedoms we have lost? We do it through one word: responsibility. By taking responsibility for our lives and actions, back away from the government, politicians, and bureaucrats. Responsibility is the key to freedom-and it is freedom.
Is taking responsibility easy? No, most would rather blame something or someone else, and others want big government to take on their responsibilities, and the more responsibilities we give the government the more they tax us and tell us what to do, what to think and how to act. It's actually quite simple, but the enemies of freedom are good at complicating things with deception.
Each one of us as individuals possess the greatest weapon on earth: Our minds. Our enemies can physically control us and try to make us succumb to fear, try brain washing us, but the one thing they can't do is control our thoughts, our volition to choose what to believe in our souls.
I think the qualities exhibited by my favorite actor Gary Cooper in my two favorite movies gives us a good role model to follow in our combat with our enemies from within.
The first movie is "High Noon" where he was the sheriff and everyone in his town including his own wife abandoned him and he stood alone on principle against some criminals upon their release from prison-who were coming back to the town to take revenge. The townspeople were afraid and thought if he left they may spare the town. But the sheriff was a man of honor and stood alone against them and defeated the criminals and spared the town. He portrayed honor and integrity as few can.
The second movie was "Mr. Deeds". He was the only heir to a distant relative he didn't even know and from him received an inheritance of millions. (In this day and age it would have been billions.) He decided to give the money away providing opportunities to people that wanted to work. The bankers tried to stop him accusing him of being insane. So there was a court hearing where bankers, lawyers, and psychologists threw every thing they could at him to prove him insane. Mr. Deeds was not an educated man and unfamiliar with the ways of the city and the sophistication of his adversaries. But through the use of humility and logic he turned every trick against his adversaries, and made the lawyers, bankers, psychologists into a bunch of clowns in a circus for all to see.
How do these two movies relate to you? Well, you have inside you the same fear and courage Gary Cooper had in High Noon and the same benevolence and logic and patience he had in Mr. Deeds.
By using the qualities you know are inside you-like honor, integrity and humility combined with responsibility is how we defeat the enemy from within. What each one of us has to do is develop those qualities and become responsible individuals. As I mentioned before the path to restoring freedom is through responsibility. Our enemies from within didn't get where they are overnight. So don't charge off on some emotional high. This battle will be long and hard so you need to arm yourself with honor, integrity and humility and take satisfaction in doing the right thing when others pressure you to take the easy way out.
The battle will be mostly psychological for most of us. You have to challenge yourself to never surrender (www.nosurrender.us) when the odds are against you. Like our soldiers who would prefer death before dishonor.
Deception and self-deception is the enemy. With so much information coming at you and so much bad news-how do you know what to believe? It won't be easy but "Mr. Deeds" did it and so can you. We all have the ability to question things and use logic to see if they wash.
While commanding my team in the Special Forces I attended a Tracking School. I learned a lot applying my tracking skills. I learned how to read signs left by who I was tracking. By looking at a person's tracks I could tell if they were walking at night because their steps would be shorter, I could tell if they were packing heavy or light, how they were equipped, their discipline and skill level and even what they might be up to. As I followed the trail I read and interpreted the signs they left. I would learn a lot about who I was following with out actually seeing them. I found that people lost at night or a child were the hardest to follow because their trail never made any sense. But some one navigating to a place I could usually figure out where they were going and take a short cut to get ahead of them to close in on them or get ahead and set up an ambush. Well you can use these same techniques against deception. Take and analyze the information from the enemies from within. Learn how to read the signs they leave and where they point. You will begin to see through lies and deception it can become like a game for you. Learn to identify the signs and analyze where they are trying to take you. Apply principles to their signs of deception.
The other day I was stopped outside the market by a women asking me to sign a petition. She stated it was for affordable condos for working people. That sounds good I thought so I began to investigate by asking questions before I signed, of course affordable housing sounds good. So I first asked who was going to pay for it and she snapped back it was not going to subsidized by the government. Then I asked who is going to pay? She said a developer had bought some land at an auction and he was planning to build expensive homes. The petition was to change the zoning to condos. So I asked does the developer want to build condos? She became flustered and couldn't or wouldn't answer the question. I had to tell her I couldn't sign not knowing what it really was. I applied two things. #1: I was acting responsible by seeing what I was being asked to sign and #2 I did not sign because deceptive tactics were being used to get me to sign, that is, she couldn't tell me the truth of what it was really about. I believe in the "golden rule" --treat others how you want to be treated. That didn't happen in this interchange. She moved on to an easier target-someone without logic or courage or someone who didn't know how to find those attributes within himself.
I challenge all of you to become responsible individuals and take our country back. Individualism and establishment principles are what founded our nation and it is time to recapture this.
Before I close many have emailed me and asked about establishment principles and what they are. So I have decided to do a News Letter on them in the next few months. In the mean time you will find that our Constitution, Bill of Rights and the Declaration of Independence all contain establishment principles that our forefathers derived from the Bible. This leads us to the best example I can give you The Ten Commandments.
The Ten Commandments are not a set of specific detailed laws for us, but are principals God set for the protection of life, liberty and property within a national entity such as the U.S.A. The first five declare the principal of Spirituality on the possibility of establishing a relationship with God and the last 5 apply to mans relationship with fellow man.
They were given to the Jews-who had just come out of slavery-and who had no understanding of freedom. God gave them freedom and the laws related to freedom. As Laws of Freedom they still serve as a model and symbol of Freedom for all mankind-not a Christian or religious symbol as our enemies from within want you to believe.
The USA was founded on these principals and although they have come under attack our history is a testimony of Gods gracious provision and our success as a nation.
I hope you will take the time to read them, along with our Constitution and Bill of Rights and see the wisdom in them and use them as a guide for Establishment Principles of Freedom.

Voice of the Soldier
If you feel as strongly as I do about our Military service men and women, please read on.
Casa D' Ice has teamed up with the Kiger Brannon Band to promote a charitable cause that we both feel extremely strong about. In my opinion, no one deserves more respect than our true American heroes, the fighting men and women of the armed forces. And when a soldier goes to war, so does his family.
My friends, The Kiger Brannon Band have recorded a song and created a wonderful music video that tells the story. The below link will take you to the page where you can watch it.
I hope the video moves you. If it does, please consider donating to the charity. 100% of the money goes directly to the charity through their own web site. The link to donate is on the page with the video.
The following is the winning entry from an annual contest calling for the most appropriate definition of a contemporary term.
This year's term: Political Correctness
"Political Correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical liberal minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end."
Which Political Leader Are You Most Like?
Every great statesman has a unique leadership style. Each reacts to an international crisis in a different way.
Some political leaders, like Winston Churchill (left), were forceful and outspoken. Others, like Thomas Jefferson (bottom left), were quiet and worked behind the scenes. Despite different styles, both were eminently successful.
It's easy. You will be asked to make a series of four decisions, each one meant to determine a certain behavioral trait.
This is not a contest. This is just meant to be an entertaining way to examine your personality and see what great political leader you may have the most in common with. Best of luck! Enjoy and tell your friends!

Three guys -- a Canadian farmer, Osama bin Laden, and an American engineer are walking together one day. They come across a lantern and a Genie pops out of it.
"I will give each of you one wish, which is three wishes total" says the Genie.
The Canadian says, "I am a farmer, my dad was a farmer, and my son will also farm. I want the land to be forever fertile in Canada ..."
Pooooof! With a blink of the Genie's eye, the land in Canada was forever made fertile for farming.
Osama bin Laden was amazed, so he said, "I want an impenetrable wall around Afghanistan , Iraq and Iran with all believers of Mohammad inside and all Jews, Americans, and other infidel forever outside our precious state.
"Pooooof! Again, with the blink of the Genie's eye, there was a huge wall around those countries..
The American engineer asks, "I am very curious. Please tell me more about this wall". The Genie explains , "Well, it's 5000 feet high, 500 feet thick and completely surrounds these countries........ it's virtually impenetrable. Now what is your wish?"
The American engineer smiles and says, "Fill it with water."
(It pays to go last.)
THIS WILL MAKE YOU THINK. MAYBE A TEAR OR TWO.
February 17, 2007, 0350 curbside at 24th and M, Washington DC. 16 Degrees with a light breeze. Going home after my second week of freezing temps to my home in SoCal. Fly my aircraft, ride a horse, climb a mountain and get back to living. I'm tired of the cold.
0425 paying the taxi fare at Dulles in front of the United Airlines counter, still cold.
0450 engaging the self-serve ticker machine and it delivers my ticket, baggage tag and boarding pass. Hmmm, that Marine is all dressed up early.? Oh, maybe,,,Hmm, "Good Morning Captain, you're looking sharp."
Pass Security and to my gate for a quick decaf coffee and 5 hours sleep. A quick check of the flight status monitor and UA Flt 211 is on time, I'm up front, how bad can it be? Hmmm, that same Marine, he must be heading to Pendleton to see his lady at LAX for the long weekend all dressed up like that..? Or maybe not?
"Attention in the boarding area, we will begin boarding in 10 minutes, we have some additional duties to attend to this morning but we will have you out of here on time."
That Captain now has five others with him, BINGO, I get it, he is not visiting his lady, he's an official escort. How I remember doing that once, CACO duty. I still remember the names of the victim and family, The Bruno Family in Mojave., all of them, wow, that was 24 years ago. I wonder if we will ever know who and why?
On board, 0600: "Good morning folks this is the Captain. This morning we have been attending to some additional duties and I apologize for being 10 minutes late for pushback but believe me we will be early to LAX. This morning it is my sad pleasure to announce that 1st LT Jared Landaker USMC will be flying with us to his Big Bear home in Southern California. Jared lost his life over the sky's of Iraq earlier this month and today we have the honor of returning him home along with his Mother, Father, Brother and uncles. Please join me in making the journey comfortable for the Landaker family and their uniformed escort. Now sit back and enjoy our ride, we are not expecting any turbulence until we reach the Rocky Mountains and at that time we will do what we can to ensure a smooth ride. For those interested you can listen in to our progress on button 9."
Up button 9: "Good morning UA 211 you are cleared to taxi, takeoff and cleared to LAX as filed." From the time we started rolling we never stopped. 1st LT Landaker began receiving his due.
A magician worked on a cruise ship. The audience was different each week so the magician did the same tricks over and over again. There was only one problem: The captain's parrot saw the shows each week and began to understand how the magician did every trick.
Once he understood, he started shouting in the middle of the show, "Look, it's not the same hat!" or, "Look, he's hiding the flowers under the table!" or "Hey, why are all the cards the ace of spades?"
The magician was furious but couldn't do anything. It was, after all, the captain's parrot. Then one stormy night on the Pacific, the ship unfortunately sank, drowning almost all who were on board. The magician luckily found himself on a piece of wood floating in the middle of the sea, as fate would have it, with the parrot.
They stared at each other with hatred, but did not utter a word. This went on for a day...and then 2 days...and then 3 days...... Finally on the 4th day, the parrot could not hold back any longer and said "OK, I give up. Where's the fuckin' ship?"
4 hours and 35 minutes later over Big Bear MT, the AB320 makes a left roll and steep bank and then one to the right.Nice touch CAPTAIN. Five minutes out from landing, the Captain, "Ladies and Gents after landing I'm leaving the fasten seatbelt sign on and I ask everyone in advance to yield to the Landaker family. Please remain seated until all members have departed the aircraft. Thank you for your patience, we are 20 minutes early."
On roll out, I notice red lights, emergency vehicles everywhere. We are being escorted directly to our gate, no waiting anywhere, not even a pause. Out the left window, a dozen Marines in full dress blues. Highway Patrol, Police, Fire crews all in full dress with lights on. A true class act by everyone, down to a person from coast to coast. Way to go United Airlines for doing the little things RIGHT, because they are the big things; Air Traffic Control for getting the message, to all law enforcement for your display of brotherhood.
When the family departed the aircraft everyone sat silent, then I heard a lady say, "God Bless You and your Family, Thank You" Then another, then another, then a somber round of applause. The Captain read a prepared note from Mrs. Landaker to the effect, "Thank you all for your patience and heartfelt concern for us and our son. We sincerely appreciate the sentiment. It is nice to have Jared home"

Answer: Princess Diana's death.
Question: How come?
Answer: An English princess

This is sent to you by an American,

and trucked to you by Mexican illegals...
After departing the a/c I found myself along with 30 others from our flight looking for a window. Not a dry eye in the craft. All of us were balling like babies. It was one of the most emotional moments of my life. We all stood silent and watched as Jared was taken by his honor guard to an awaiting hearse. Then the motorcade slowly made it's way off the ramp.
I have finally seen the silent majority. It is deep within us all. Black, Brown, White, Yellow, Red, Purple, we are all children, parents, brothers, sisters, etc.we are an American family.
What you don't know is that on the flight I was tapped on the shoulder by Mrs. Landaker who introduced herself to me after I awoke.
Early in our taxi out from the gate at Dulles, the gent next to me (a Fairfax City Council Member and acquaintance of the Thuot family) were talking to the flight attendant and mentioned that we had sons serving on active duty, "What do you say? How tragic, they must be devastated." He said many of the passengers had told him the same thing so somewhere in the flight he shared his tidbits with Mrs. Landaker. Our flight attendant had been struggling with what to say, to find the right words, so he told the Landaker family of passengers who were parents of service members who connected with their grief as parents. After I gathered myself, I stepped back to their row, two behind me and introduced myself to Mr. Landaker (a Veteran of South East Asia as a Tanker) and Jared's uncle and brother. What a somber moment. Their Marine Captain escort was a first rate class act. He had been Jared's tactics instructor and volunteered for this assignment, as he said, "Sir, it is the least I could do, he was my friend and a great stick. He absolutely loved to fly, It's an honor to be here on his last flight."
1115: On my connecting flight, my mind raced. How lucky I was to have had an opportunity to fly my father to Spain and ride the carrier USS John F. Kennedy home in 1981. The same year Jared was born. How lucky I was to have my father on the crows landing when I made my final cat shot in an F-14. Jared's father never had that chance. Jared was at war, 10,000 miles away
When Mr. Landaker and I were talking he shared with me, "When Jared was born he had no soft spot on his head and Dr's feared he would be developmentally challenged. He became a Physics Major with Honors, high school and college athlete, and graduated with distinction from naval aviation flight school! He was short in stature, but a Marine all the way." Visit his life story on line at www.bigbeargrizzly.net. Bring tissue.
February 7, 2007, Anbar Province, Iraq. 1st LT Jared Landaker United States Marine Corps, Hero, from Big Bear California, gave his live in service to his country. Fatally wounded when his CH-46 helicopter was shot down by enemy fire, Jared and his crew all perished. His life was the ultimate sacrifice of a grateful military family and nation. His death occurred at the same time as Anna Nicole Smith, a drug using person with a 7th grade education of no pedigree who dominated our news for two weeks while Jared became a number on CNN. And most unfortunately, Jared's death underscores a fact that we are a military at war, not a nation at war. Until we become a nation committed to winning the fight, and elect leaders with the spine to ask Americans to sacrifice in order to win, we shall remain committed to being a nation with a military at war, and nothing more.
(And possibly no funding if congress has their way!)
1st LT Landaker, a man I came to know in the sky's over America on 17 February 2007, from me to you, aviator to aviator, I am unbelievably humbled It was my high honor to share your last flight. God bless you.
Who's Packing your Parachute?
Charles Plumb was a US Navy jet pilot in Vietnam. After 75 combat missions, his plane was destroyed by a surface-to-air missile. Plumb ejected and parachuted into enemy hands. He was captured and spent 6 years in a communist Vietnamese prison. He survived the ordeal and now lectures on lessons learned from that experience!
One day, when Plumb and his wife were sitting in a restaurant, a man at another table came up and said, "You're Plumb! You flew jet fighters in Vietnam from the aircraft carrier Kitty Hawk. You were shot down!"
"How in the world did you know that?" asked Plumb..
"I packed your parachute," the man replied. Plumb gasped in surprise and gratitude. The man pumped his hand and said, "I guess it worked!" Plumb assured him, "It sure did. If your chute hadn't worked, I wouldn't be here today."
Plumb couldn't sleep that night, thinking about that man. Plumb says, "I kept wondering what he had looked like in a Navy uniform: a white hat; a bib in the back; and bell-bottom trousers. I wonder how many times I might have seen him and not even said 'Good morning, how are you?' or anything because, you see, I was a fighter pilot and he was just a sailor." Plumb thought of the many hours the sailor had spent at a long wooden table in the bowels of the ship, carefully weaving the shrouds and folding the silks of each chute, holding in his hands each time the fate of someone he didn't know.
Now, Plumb asks his audience, "Who's packing your parachute?" Everyone has someone who provides what they need to make it through the day. He also points out that he needed many kinds of parachutes when his plane was shot down over enemy territory -- he needed his physical parachute, his mental parachute, his emotional parachute, and his spiritual parachute. He called on all these supports before reaching safety.
Sometimes in the daily challenges that life gives us, we miss what is really important. We may fail to say hello, please, or thank you, congratulate someone on something wonderful that has happened to them, give a compliment, or just do something nice for no reason. As you go through this week, this month, this year, recognize people who pack your parachutes.
I am sending you this as my way of thanking you for your part in packing my parachute . And I hope you will send it on to those who have helped pack yours!
Sometimes, we wonder why friends keep forwarding jokes to us without writing a word. Maybe this could explain it: When you are very busy, but still want to keep in touch, guess what you do -- you forward jokes. And to let you know that you are still remembered, you are still important, you are still loved, you are still cared for, guess what you get? A forwarded joke.
So my friend, next time when you get a joke, don't think that you've been sent just another forwarded joke, but that you've been thought of today and your friend on the other end of your computer wanted to send you a smile, just helping you pack your parachute...
Have a great day and stay in touch...
Word of Truth

The Enemy Within
God created Adam and the woman perfect and sinless. When Adam, fully cognizant used his volition to sin he died spiritually and acquired a sin nature. This sin nature is passed down through the man through copulation in every succeeding generation. Therefore, we are born physically alive and spiritually dead; Rom 5:12, "Therefore, just as through one man [Adam] sin [sin nature] entered the world, and [spiritual] death through sin, so also [spiritual] death spread to the entire human race because, all sinned [when Adam sinned]."
Spiritual death means total separation from the righteous and loving God who created the heavens and the earth. God created mankind to have a relationship with Himself. However, Adam destroyed this loving relationship with the creator when he used his own volition to choose against God. Perfect man by an act of his own volition became imperfect, a corrupted man with a sin nature. The enemy within demonstrated by Adam is our own volition. The sin nature is an antagonist and tempts us to sin however; it is our volition that ultimately decides to act on that temptation. "I have seen the enemy, and he is us."
The Bible refers to the sin nature in many ways, as the flesh in Rom 5:12, 6:6, 7:14, 1 Cor 15:56, Gal 5:16, Eph 2:3, 1 John 1:8; as the old man in Rom 6:6, Eph 4:22, Col 3:9, carnal sometimes translated fleshly in 1 Cor 3:1-3, corruptible man in Rom 1:23, corruptible seed in 1 Peter 1:23. The sin nature is a source of temptation to sin. The sin nature and our volition are the enemies within. All sin originates from your own volition (free will). The sin nature tempts to sin, but only your volition can decide to act upon that temptation.
The sin nature is the genetic target for the imputation of Adam's original sin at physical birth causing spiritual death, resulting in separation from God and total depravity. While the sin nature resides in the cell structure of your body, volition resides in your soul. God created the soul and the free will, which resides in it. The sin nature originates from the original sin of Adam in the garden and is passed down through the man (hence, the reason and need for the virgin birth of Christ). Most of our temptations to sin originate from the sin nature, and from outside sources, the cosmic system, friends, demonic forces etc...
Two categories of sin include pre-salvation sins and post-salvation sins. The solution to pre-salvation sins is faith alone in Christ alone. Jesus Christ, eternal God, by an act of His own free will chose to become a [perfect] man live a perfect life without sin, fulfilling the law and die as our substitute. He took our place on the cross and bore our sins in His own body on the cross (1 Peter 2:24). For the wages of sin is [spiritual] death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord, Rom 6:23. Moreover, this is exactly what He did for you. Rom 5:8 says, "God demonstrates His own love, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died as a substitute for us."
The moment you believe in Jesus Christ all of your pre-salvation sins are blotted out. God completely removes them from you and God imputes to you eternal life and His own perfect righteousness. You become a son of God. This relationship can never be broken. Let me warn you, if as a son of God you reject His word and His perfect will for your life He will discipline you.
Heb 12:6: "For those whom the Lord loves He disciplines, and He scourges [alive with a whip] every son whom He receives."
The solution to post salvation sins is found in 1John 1:9: "If we confess our sins to Him [God the father] He is faithful [He does the same thing every time] and justified to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."
As believers in the Lord Jesus Christ, we must understand God's grace solution to the enemies within, the sin nature and our own free will. Grace is all that God is free to do for us based upon the perfect, substitutionary, efficacious work of Christ on the cross. Our salvation is grace (Eph2:8-9) and our unique spiritual life is grace. God does all the work we reap all the benefits [...so that no man can boast].
I have had unbelievers tell me after hearing that salvation is as simple as believing in the Lord Jesus Christ; "it can't be that easy, I have to do something that makes me worthy for my salvation. I have to earn my salvation." This is the fundamental difference in all the religions of the world and Christianity. Christianity is a relationship with the living God, and in order to acquire that relationship we must adhere to the system and policy that He established. The system and policy that God established is Grace. He sent His own Son to die in our place. Jesus was the only member of the human race that was qualified to die on behalf of us. He was the only one who was perfect, without a sin nature or even one act of personal sin. God is propitiated or satisfied with His sacrifice. God is not, and could not, be satisfied with anything less. That is why we can do nothing for our salvation other than to accept it as the gift that God intended. Anything we add to God's perfect finished work on the cross detracts from it. I do not know about you but I would not wish to detract from the perfect work of grace. What an insult to God. Adding works to salvation is like saying Christ's completed work on the cross wasn't good enough. This is the epitome of arrogance. He died once [as a substitute] for all. Are you not included in the all? Are your sins somehow greater than God's perfect plan and His finished work on the cross?
The enemy within is our volition. Our choices, which we make of our own free will, become the most insidious enemy. We choose to ignore or reject the accurate teaching of the Word of God. God has a perfect will and plan for our lives, a plan that will guarantee our happiness and rewards for time and eternity. We freely choose the opposite of what God wants for us to our own destruction.

Robert Kingston, 78; Army general was first chief of Central Command
Robert Kingston, an Army general and highly decorated combat veteran who served in the early 1980s as the first chief of U.S. Central Command, which deploys ground, sea and air units to the Middle East, died Wednesday at the Ruxton Health Care nursing home in Alexandria, Va. He had complications from a fall at his home in Fairfax County, Va. He was 78.
Kingston, who spent more than 36 years in the Army, served in the Korean and Vietnam wars and held command positions in the Rangers and Special Forces. In 1981, he became commanding general of the Rapid Deployment Joint Task Force, a predecessor of Central Command, headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla.
The task force started in 1980 after the Iranian Revolution and was also used to discourage the Soviet Union, whose troops were then occupying Afghanistan, from moving into the Persian Gulf region. At the time, the task force was responsible for 19 countries from the Horn of Africa to Afghanistan.

Top general in Afghanistan expels Marines Unit
WASHINGTON - The top American general in Afghanistan has expelled a U.S. Marine special operations company for the way the men responded to an ambush March 4, Marine sources said.
Maj. Cliff Gilmore, a spokesman for Marine Special Operations Command, confirmed to The Examiner that the company of 120 Marines is redeploying.
He said the decision followed an ambush on the company's convoy by a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device. A second Marine source said the Marines retaliated and some civilians were killed...

Australian special forces likely to head to Afghanistan
Australia is close to committing special forces soldiers to Afghanistan to counter an expected Taliban spring offensive, Defence Minister Brendan Nelson said Sunday.
Nelson said it was likely that elite Special Air Services (SAS) troops would be sent to southern Uruzgan province, a former stronghold of the fundamentalist Taliban regime.
"We believe there is a need. We think that the Taliban will be mounting a very strong offensive shortly," he told Australian television.
"We are very close to making a decision about it."

The Coming War with Islam
Is it unavoidable?
Five years ago, I had a conversation with a young Palestinian student who in short precise terms explained how Islam will defeat the West. The conversation opened my eyes to a much larger picture in which Israel plays only a minor role in the Islamic game of conquest. Since then I tried to speak to some Arabs who come to pray at the Mosque, but they were not as outspoken as the student.
Last week, I had another conversation with an Israeli Arab construction boss by the unlikely name of Francis who was in charge of building a villa near our house in Herzelia. He told me that his family was Christian, and his name was given to him in honor of the Franciscan monks. Our conversation was as interesting as the first conversation I had with the Arab student five years ago and I would like to share it with you. Francis frequently parked his car near our house and we would exchange polite greetings.

GIs just down the beach from Philippine terrorists
Special Forces forbidden to fight the Abu Sayyaf
PDT Jolo, Philippines - Except for the humvees parked on the beach and armed guards with M-16s, the Navy Seals base here looks more like a hangout for surf bums than a military base for an elite anti-terrorist task force.
A few yards from the detachment's temporary home in a mansion surrounded by blast barriers and coconut palms, white-flecked waves pound on a powdery sand shore, and the long sweep of a perfect honeymooners' beach runs into the distance toward jungle-covered mountains.
A pile of scuba gear lies in the entrance of the mansion, half-built for a local politician and then abandoned. Outside is tethered the group's mascot, a monkey called Rage.
A nicer backwater of the war on terror could not be imagined.

New unit takes on big mission
Soldiers assigned to the 723rd Main Support Company (Airborne) stand ready to deploy in support of special operations soldiers around the world.
Originally Company F of the 528th Special Operations Support Battalion, the 723rd MSC(A) was re-designated when the U.S. Army Special Operations Command began restructuring its major support commands and major support units.
"The name comes from a unit that was active during World War II," said Sgt. 1st Class Norman Ferguson, the company first sergeant. "The original unit was also a support company, so with the name comes great history."
Most of the support companies are assigned to other major support units or major support commands within USASOC to provide those particular units with support. The 723rd MSC(A), however, is not assigned to support any one unit.

Native American trackers to hunt bin Laden
An elite group of Native American trackers is joining the hunt for terrorists crossing Afghanistan's borders.
The unit, the Shadow Wolves, was recruited from several tribes, including the Navajo, Sioux, Lakota and Apache. It is being sent to Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to pass on ancestral sign-reading skills to local border units.
In recent years, members of the Shadow Wolves have mainly tracked smugglers along the US border with Mexico.
But the Taliban's resurgence in Afghanistan and the US military's failure to hunt down Osama bin Laden - still at large on his 50th birthday on Saturday - has prompted the Pentagon to requisition them.
Defence Secretary Robert M.Gates said last month: "If I were Osama bin Laden, I'd keep looking over my shoulder."
The Pentagon has been alarmed at the ease with which Taliban and al-Qa'ida fighters have been slipping in and out of Afghanistan. Defence officials are convinced their movements can be curtailed by the Shadow Wolves.
The unit has earned international respect for its tracking skills in the Arizona desert. It was founded in the early 1970s to curb the flow of marijuana into the US from Mexico and has since tracked people-smugglers across hundreds of square kilometres of the Tohono O'odham tribal reservation, southwest of Tucson.

Mexican Gangs Take Over L.A. As Cops Back Down From Don Stacey
On National Public Radio last month (February)....a spokesman for the Los Angeles PD, stated that the 90,000 cops of the LAPD have been "overwhelmed" by street gangs in the area now numbering somewhere between 150,000 to 200,000 in strength. And these gangs, ages 10 to 40, are armed...some with automatic weapons. The Negro gangs (BLOODS, CRIPS, etc.) have been replaced by the Mexican mestizo outfits like M-13.
In Long Beach, near the Los Angeles harbor, there is a struggle going on between the newly emerging Asian gangs and the mestizo's for control of the area. Thomas Chittum predicts that this street gang war is the beginning of what he calls "civil war 2" and the total disintegration of the USA.
California is similar to Iraq......just waiting to rumble, as the population increases by leaps and bounds. CALIFORNIA population is presently about 40 million which will double in less than 20 years...

Islam is a religion of WHAT?
Standing on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, on the afternoon of September 11, 2001, looking west to Manhattan, the fires had turned the horizon a bright orange that rose to great heights painted against a perfect pitiless blue sky.
Observing this terrible beauty, the residents of the neighborhood danced in the streets, laughing, shouting to each other, shaking hands. These people were not what one would suppose to be fanatical or militant Muslims. They were people who had come to these shores from the Middle East, mostly shop keepers, bakers, purveyors of eastern spices, tradesmen, cab drivers and the usual diversity of people found in a New York ethnic neighborhood on a warm fall weekday.
They were American citizens however, who were expressing their judgment joy at the events of that horrible day that forever changed our world and America's place in that world. They were also the followers of Islam: religion of oppression, discrimination, violence, terror, war, superstition, intolerance and prejudice.
They were the followers of a religion of hate who, at the very least, if not active participants in the events of that world-changing day, took unashamed pleasure in the violence visited upon those, including their fellow citizens and neighbors, who did not share their beliefs.

The Ayatollahs' Escalation
Wars have started over less. The March 23 seizure of 15 British sailors and marines by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Navy can be called many things, but spontaneous isn't one of them. It was another in a long series of tests of Western resolve that Iran has posed and we have failed. Iran is -- cleverly and gradually -- escalating its war for control of the Middle East.
In 1979 Iranian revolutionaries -- probably including a young Mahmoud Ahmadinejad -- seized the American embassy in Tehran and held its staff hostage for 444 days. Diplomacy failed so in April 1980, so Jimmy Carter launched and personally micromanaged into failure a military rescue mission in which eight Americans died in an aircraft collision at Desert One.
That failure and the ones to come taught Iran that it could provoke -- even commit acts of war -- without suffering any penalty. In the years since, it has -- either directly or through its terrorist proxies such as Hizballah -- committed a long series of terrorist acts resulting in many American deaths.
For over 20 years, Iran has lied to the UN Security Council about its nuclear programs. Instead of opening them to UN inspectors, Iran has dispersed its nuclear facilities and buried them in hardened sites to prevent destruction by air strikes.

Iraq: The Fear Factor in Chlorine Bombs
Insurgents detonated three vehicle-borne improvised explosive devices (VBIEDs) packed with chlorine in Iraq's Anbar province west of Baghdad on March 16. The initial blasts, which U.S. officials blamed on al Qaeda in Iraq, killed at least six people, while at least 350 Iraqi civilians and six U.S. troops fell ill as a result of chlorine exposure.
Chlorine bombs are relatively easy weapons for the Iraqi insurgents to make. The devices used in the latest attacks involved a pickup truck and two dump trucks loaded with chlorine tanks and rigged with explosives. One of the dump trucks reportedly carried a 200-gallon chlorine tank. One truck detonated at a checkpoint near Ar Ramadi, while another killed two Iraqi policemen in Al Amiriyah. The most devastating attack occurred three miles south of Al Fallujah when a dump truck targeted the reception center of a tribal sheikh who had denounced al Qaeda.

Pentagon Transcripts Show Khalid Sheikh Mohammed Confesses to Sept. 11 Attacks
Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, the suspected mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks, confessed to that attack and a string of others during a military hearing at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, according to a transcript released by the Pentagon.
"I was responsible for the 9/11 operation from A to Z," Mohammed said in a statement read during the session, which was held last Saturday.
The transcripts released Wednesday by the Pentagon also refer to a claim by Mohammed that he was tortured by the CIA, although he said he was not under duress when he confessed to his role in the attacks.
In a chilling list of attacks - some of which were carried out, some not - Mohammed claimed responsibility for planning, financing and training others for plots ranging from the 1993 truck bombing of the World Trade Center to the attempt by would-be shoe bomber Richard Reid to blow up a trans-Atlantic flight with explosives hidden in his shoes.

The New Dark Age
In the 1970s, as a public relations consultant, I helped introduce a new pesticide to the American market. More specifically, to the pest control industry as it was not available for use by the public. It was called "Ficam" and, after having undergone the costly Environmental Protection Agency registration process, it was quickly and widely used by pest control professionals, not just for its capacity to eliminate cockroaches and a variety of other pest insects, but because it was applied with nothing more toxic than water.
For two decades this pesticide thrived. I wrote case histories of where it was used in hotels, casinos, restaurants, and theme parks, as well as in homes and apartments. The pest control profession embraced it and there never was a single case of it causing any hazard to those who applied it or benefited from it.

1. Pistol craft - If you are determined to improve, practice some part of your pistol craft every day. While practicing, make every shot count for something. Work on either your accuracy or your speed during each practice session.
Don't over-practice. You may have heard about competitors who expend thousands of rounds in practice, but for a beginner, fifty rounds per session may be more than enough. If you get tired or lose focus, quit. Don't just rattle off shots down-range because you have the ammunition. Practice ammo is not free: you want something more than spent brass to show for your investment. Save that ammo for tomorrow.
2. When on the go and a break comes, change your socks, organize your packed weight that feels like nothing but rocks... and don't forget... hydrate!
